The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services on the community.
SASSA might be rendering expert services such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency said it's alarmed in regards to the substantial amount of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a superior amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is often mainly because of the lack here of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office dedicated to service the area regularly. The assistance level created for intervention activities a higher inflow of prospective beneficiaries, that makes it challenging with the office to attend to all people who stop by a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more resources to empower the servicing of all clients and maximize use of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
